Is LeBron James a Dog?
10 days ago, I began hearing a lot of references to a chap called LeBron as a “Dog”. Being a dog myself, I was very interested in these reports, and started following the story of LeBron James quite closely.
It turned out that LeBron was not a dog at all – or at least not in the literal sense. He was an American basket ball player, who seemed to have greatly offended the good people of Cleveland, by betraying them, and leaving their team to go to the Miami Heat. What made things so bad was that he didn’t really tell Cleveland in advance, and announced his decision at the last moment, on public television! Now, as I say, I’m a dog myself, but even I wouldn’t do that!
And this behavior leads me on to my next question. You see – whether you love him or hate him, everyone has to agree LeBron is an AMAZING basketball player (I’ve been watching him on YouTube, and he can jump higher than I do when I hear a tin of dog food being opened). But is LeBron a GREAT player anymore?
Firstly, the way he treated Cleveland shows that his character is somewhat lacking. But secondly, he has gone to a team where there are loads of good players already. It is true, he may win titles at the HEAT (despite what Dan Gilbert thinks), but will they really mean anything? By moving to a team that is destined to win things, maybe he’s removed the challenge. Perhaps a player is only really “great”, if they manage to take a team from zero to hero. Proving he can win titles with the HEAT might not mean very much at all…
So we decided to ask the World to decide. Is LeBron still the greatest? You can click here to rank your Top7 NBA Players for 2011 on our cool facebook application. Then share it with your friends and see what they think of him.
Is James top of your list, or has his behaviour knocked the King from his throne?
Only you can decide…
Bojan my four legged friend,
You got it wrong. Lebron made the announcement on prime time TV and gave the ad proceeds to charity.
With all due respect to the Cavs:
a. He put them on the NBA map and carried them on his back for 7 years without enough of a team backing to win the title.
b. It’s fu&*^g Cleveland man! It’s cold and miserable.. King James needs some sun, son.
Im sure he got a nice payoff from ESPN. All I can say to that is woooooooof!
People are being way too hard on him. It was his decision to make. He made his best run last seaon at the playoffs with the Cavs that he could’ve made. It was time for him to play for him. He now has a much better chance at a ring with the help of Wade and Bosh. I agree with Guliama’s part A. It’s time to do what’s best for him.
I bet to differ. The point is not that he left the Cavs, but that he selected to join a team where he’s a follower and not a leader. It will never be his team, but Bosh’s, Wade’s AND his team.
A guy who would like to be considered as one of the 3 best ever, just cannot afford not to lead a team! He should have joined the Bulls or Knicks.
