How to create the Best TV Show of All Time? End on a high…!

Occasionally the humans here at Top7 want to write a guest Blog. Gideon, a British gentleman who works here has been particularly pushy, so I’ve let him write a guest entry. I apologize in advance for his poor English…

Love Bojan

Oh baby! Another huge development in the life of Top7, with the introduction of our facebook app. And to kick off we seek to launch a global Rankathon to discover what is the most popular TV show of all time. And at the moment… it’s Seinfeld!

Interesting that this show should be so popular, and I for one think it’s because of one concept. “Finish on a high!”. Seinfeld was unique in that the team stopped creating new shows when its popularity was still at its peak.

Friends for example (which I ranked at #7) kept going until it was (arguably) past its best. A show like the Simpsons, for example, has really ruined its image by continuing long after Matt Groening ran out of ideas. Rather than being remembered as an absolute classic, the Simpsons is now looked at as a show… which used to be good.

On the other extreme is the British classic – Fawlty Towers. This gem of english comedy is remembered worlwide, but do you know how many episodes they actually created? Amazingly, there are only 12 Episodes!

In creating classic TV – End on a high.
